Now, per <em>Deadline<\/em>&#8216;s reporting, Dano is set to flex his horror chops in <em>Smile<\/em> director Parker Finn&#8217;s upcoming remake of cult genre classic <em>Possession<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>Dano joins leads Margaret Qualley and Callum Turner In Finn&#8217;s movie, a retooling of the late Polish filmmaker&nbsp;Andrzej \u017bu\u0142awski&#8217;s classic 1981 chiller. For those unfamiliar with the original film, \u017bu\u0142awski&#8217;s West Berlin-set psychological supernatural horror (try saying that twice as fast) stars Sam Neill as a spy who suspects his wife (Isabella Adjani) might be having an affair. Infidelity and marital woe are very soon the least of the couple&#8217;s worries however as their impending divorce catalyses a destructive cycle involving murder, doppelgangers, and a full-on nightmare-inducing tentacled alien creature. Qualley and Turner are expected to take on the Adjani and Neill roles in Finn&#8217;s film, while Dano&#8217;s part in it all is currently being kept under wraps \u2014 which means yes, he <em>could<\/em> be playing the alien! Probably not, admittedly, but possibly&#8230; you just never know.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>With a new golden age of horror seemingly upon us courtesy of the likes of Danny and Michael Philippou (<em>Bring Her Back<\/em>), Nia DaCosta (<em>28 Years Later: The Bone Temple<\/em>), Kane Parsons (<em>Backrooms<\/em>), and Curry Barker (<em>Obsession<\/em>), we&#8217;re very intrigued to see if Finn \u2014 whose most recent horror joint, <em>Smile 2<\/em>, caused a real buzz among genre aficionados \u2014 can chill and astonish us anew with his vision of \u017bu\u0142awski&#8217;s unfettered, uncompromising, incredibly tentacly masterwork.
