No? Well, Call of Duty Ambience is here anyway.

Erected by app-maker Mike Wing, Call of Duty Ambience is a new website that, for some reason, allows you to tap back into multiplayer lobbies like it’s 2010 all over again. Fit with an Xbox 360 theme, cringy gamertags, and other classic visuals, the site allows anyone to log in and get some shuteye while strangers argue in the background.

Three Call of Duty games are supported at the moment: Modern Warfare 2, Black Ops, and Black Ops 2. If you ever played a few games of team deathmatch for any of these first-person shooter classics, you should immediately feel right at home.

most people fall asleep to white noise

i fall asleep to grown men arguing in cod lobbies

so i made a website that plays Call of Duty voice chat 24/7 pic.twitter.com/tu0q1rxtFO

— mike wing (@immike_wing) July 16, 2026

“Most people fall asleep to white noise,” Wing said in an X/Twitter post. “I fall asleep to grown men arguing in CoD lobbies. So I made a website that plays Call of Duty voice chat 24/7.”

Most old-school Call of Duty fans might remember “CoD lobbies” more than the games themselves. In the early days of multiplayer for the Infinity Ward and Treyarch titles, players would stick around between matches to chat amongst themselves. These almost always devolved into trash-talking shouting matches that would go on without any real rhyme or reason. It was terrible – but for some, it was peaceful in its own way, too.

CoD lobbies added a social element to the games that’s largely been done away with in recent installments. The recently released Black Ops 1 and 2 ports for PS4 and PS5 helped bring back the glory days in their own way, but Call of Duty Ambience feels like an especially nostalgic – and loud – nod, too.

The Best Call of Duty Campaigns

<img alt="Following its debut in 2003, Call of Duty quickly ascended to become the best-selling first-person shooter series ever, a title it continues to hold to this day. That’s almost entirely down to its ever-popular multiplayer, which keeps fans playing day in, day out. But there are, of course, two sides to Call of Duty. Standing side-by-side the PvP are the single-player campaigns, which, for those of us a little unwilling to huck ourselves into the online hellhole and compete in the Call of Duty combat cauldron, tell cinematic stories straight from the front line.

But which Call of Duty games have the greatest campaigns? IGN’s keenest and most experienced Call of Duty fans have combined to carve out a list of our favourite single-player stories, plucked from all throughout the series’ two-decade-and-change history. We’re looking for campaigns that champion Call of Duty’s greatest strengths: those with great mission variety, ambitious set-pieces, and novel mechanics, as well as the more traditional “great FPS” staples like strong level design and memorable storytelling. Only the campaigns that have it all can truly rise to the top of this list, which means this year’s somewhat muddled Black Ops 7 didn’t quite make the cut. But which ones did?

Here are our top 10 Call of Duty campaigns.
” decoding=”async” class=”progressive-image jsx-2896921488 image aspect-ratio aspect-ratio-16-9 jsx-2605834259 jsx-2338608387 hover-opacity” loading=”lazy” src=”https://imdbnews.ir/wp-content/uploads/2026/07/call-of-duty-ambience-website-lets-you-fall-asleep-to-nostalgic-black-ops-and-mw2-lobbies.gif” data-cy=”progressive-image”>

For more, you can read about how Activision is combating exploits in its new ports.
