YIBAMBE! Another Marvel Hall H panel has come and gone, bringing with it Avengers: Doomsday<\/em> teases, an exciting Ghost Rider<\/em> announcement, and tidbits galore of what’s to come as the MCU’s Multiverse Saga nears its end. But while some may have smarted at the lack of a bigX-Men movie reveal or some grand Mutant Saga slate drop, Kevin Feige \u2014 a sage SDCC ringmaster by now \u2014 ended Marvel Studios’ panel with ‘one more thing’: Black Panther 3<\/em>! That’s right folks, Ryan Coogler’s Sinners<\/em> follow-up will be his hotly anticipated Wakandan threequel, and none other than David Jonsson is set to star… in a massive<\/em> role.<\/p>\n

As revealed on stage at SDCC, BAFTA Rising Star Award winner Jonsson \u2014 who has been lighting up our screens lately in such projects as Alien: Romulus<\/em>, The Long Walk<\/em>, and Wasteman<\/em> \u2014 is officially set to play the grown son of Chadwick Boseman’s T’Challa, Prince T’Challa II (formerly known as Toussaint), in Black Panther 3<\/em>. As you’ll recall, Toussaint was introduced in the emotional closing minutes of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever<\/em>, paving the way for the late King T’Challa’s son to succeed his auntie Shuri (Letitia Wright) someday as the new Black Panther. And with today’s announcement, it would appear that day has come.<\/p>\n

Along with the reveal that Black Panther 3<\/em> \u2014 or Black Panther III<\/em>, as it’s currently being stylised \u2014 will indeed be Ryan Coogler’s next movie, we did also learn a couple more exciting things about the inbound trilogy capper. Firstly, as the celluloid revolution \u2014 of which Coogler has been a major proponent \u2014 continues apace, we got confirmation that BP3<\/em> is being shot on large-format celluloid film (no InfinityVision for this one, then, folks!) And secondly, the movie has a release date already: 15 December, 2028. Only 882 days to go… the countdown starts here!<\/p>\n
