Here&#8217;s hoping you have space for it \u2014 or the budget to buy a new SD card.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">That&#8217;s around double the game&#8217;s install size on PlayStation 5, which benefits from some clever file compression technology, though similar to the game&#8217;s memory footprint on PC. The downside? A sixth expansion, Evercold, is already on the way \u2014 meaning you&#8217;ll likely need even more memory space from next January.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Somewhat amusingly, Final Fantasy publisher Square Enix is no stranger to holding the record for the biggest Switch 2 games by memory size. Until the launch of Final Fantasy 14, Square Enix&#8217;s Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth holds the current record (91.8GB) for a single game, as well as the record for a game bundle (the Kingdom Hearts Collection, which includes a trio of titles that weigh in at 131GB total).<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Final Fantasy 14 game director Naoki Yoshida suited up in Bastion armor to take the stage at Final Fantasy 14 Fan Festival 2026 in Berlin to confirm the title&#8217;s long-awaited Switch 2 launch date over the weekend, alongside a laundry list of new updates coming in the near future. The game&#8217;s first month on sale will be offered without any subscription charge as its servers are stabilized.
