It may have taken Odysseus two long decades to be reunited with his friend \u2014 and Ithaca’s loyal swineherd \u2014 Eumaeus in Christopher Nolan’s The Odyssey<\/em>, but for the actors who portrayed them, it looks like a reunion will be on the cards hopefully a lot sooner. As Deadline<\/em> reports, John Leguizamo is in negotiations to star opposite Matt Damon in Everything Everywhere All At Once<\/em> Oscar winners The Daniels’ secretive Universal sci-fi movie.<\/p>\n

Written and directed by Daniel Kwan and Daniel Scheinert, The Daniels’ secrecy-shrouded next movie \u2014 recently described by Matt Damon as “The Breakfast Club<\/em> meets Inception<\/em> meets an anime film meets an episode of The John Oliver Show<\/em> that didn\u2019t get aired” during an interview with The Dan Patrick Show<\/em> \u2014 is already pulling together quite the ensemble. While the movie is believed to centre around a predominantly young primary cast of mostly unknown talent, the film has<\/em> already added the likes of Sandra Oh, Charles Melton, Michael Gandolfini, and Sean Kaufman to its call sheet, with Leguizamo’s career-best turn in Nolan’s mythic epic having done enough to convince The Daniels he was the man they wanted to fill their movie’s last major role before shooting begins later this year.<\/p>\n

In addition to Damon’s frankly mind-blowing description of what The Daniels are currently cooking, one Daniel \u2014 Kwan, that is \u2014 has previously teased a little of what he and his creative partner have in store for us next. In a Collider<\/em> interview earlier this year, Kwan pitched the project as “a fun sci-fi, action comedy with a big heart” that’s “very existential” \u2014 or, in other words, a Daniels movie. We’ll find out what exactly it all means and entails when ‘Untitled Daniels Event Movie’ hits cinemas on 19 November, 2027.<\/p>\n
