After all, everything&#8217;s a trilogy these days, right? Well, er, yes actually, it would seem. Per <em>Variety<\/em>&#8216;s reporting, Iain Morris and Damon Beesley&#8217;s iconic British teen comedy is officially making a comeback: <em>The Inbetweeners<\/em> reunion movie is happening at Netflix, and the whole gang is getting back together for it.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>Spanning three seasons, two successful spin-off movies, and an American remake that we shall never speak of again, <em>The Inbetweeners<\/em> is a well-established institution of British comedy at this point \u2014 Pussay Patrol, clunge, bus wankers, &#8220;ooh, friend&#8221; memes, and all. And since rights holders Banijay U.K. revealed last October that a deal had been struck with co-creators Morris and Beesley that \u201cpaves the way for the return of the hit comedy title\u201d, rumours have persisted that Simon Bird, Joe Thomas, James Buckley, and Blake Harrison \u2014 now comfortably more middleagedbetweeners than Inbetweeners, with being in their late 30s\/early 40s at this point \u2014 would soon be back for more cringe-inducing misadventures. It <em>is<\/em> worth noting that no deals for the lads&#8217; returns have been officially finalised just yet.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>Despite not knowing when The Inbetweeners are coming back, what they&#8217;ll be getting up to this time, or indeed exactly who will fill out the cast list, there&#8217;s an undeniable nostalgic appeal to the prospect of catching up with the boys over a decade later as they navigate full-on adulthood. Maybe Simon and Carly have finally gotten it together at long last? Maybe Will&#8217;s ditched the briefcase and discovered the convenient thrill of the messenger bag? Perhaps Neil has followed the philosophers&#8217; path after realising that God is just dog spelled backwards? Jay might have <em>actually<\/em> taken Woking from the Conference to the Champions league in six seasons by now. That kind of stuff doesn&#8217;t go unnoticed, you know?
