For instance, James Cameron congratulated the team behind <em>Avengers: Endgame<\/em> on its Earth-shattering box office haul with an Iron Man \/ Avatar crossover image; and now, the Russo Brothers are nodding to another Marvel victor.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id>\n<p>While <em>Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em> has a good way to go before becoming the most successful film of all time, it did just have the highest-grossing opening weekend ever in the US, earning $360 million in a matter of days \u2013 just edging ahead of <em>Endgame<\/em>\u2019s $357 million US debut. And so, the Endgame directors shared a congratulatory piece of art \u2013 by Bosslogic \u2013 on Instagram, depicting Spider-Man donning the Infinity Stones as rings. \u201cHuge congratulations to Destin, Tom, Zendaya, Jacob, Jon, Mark, Sadie, Florence, Michael, Marisa, producers Kevin, Amy, Avi, and Rachel, and the entire <em>Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em> cast and crew on making domestic box office opening weekend history,\u201d the filmmakers wrote. \u201cThe gauntlet has been passed\u2026\u201d<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div id>\n<p>It remains to be seen what happens from here \u2013 having already crossed $1 billion in less than a week of release, can <em>Spider-Man: Brand New Day<\/em> muscle in with <em>Endgame<\/em> and the <em>Avatar<\/em> movies among the all-time global high grossers? And will the Spidey team be handing the crown back to the Russo Brothers once their upcoming Avengers: Doomsday lands in December?
