In May last year, the tech experts at Digital Foundry said Oblivion Remastered suffered from significant performance problems, including hitches while roaming the open world, frame-rate problems, and even performance degrading slowly with more playing time, potentially due to a memory leak. Then, in May this year, Digital Foundry revisited Oblivion Remastered to check in on how it performs, and found many of the same issues.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">It was yet another damning assessment of Oblivion Remastered, which has a \u2018mostly positive\u2019 Steam user review rating for all reviews, but a \u2018mixed\u2019 user review rating for recent reviews. \u201cAbandonware,\u201d declared one negative review. \u201cThere are still glaring bugs and performance issues. They updated twice after release and now we are getting close to one year without anything.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span data-cy=\"slideshow-view-trigger\"><\/p>\n<div data-cy=\"slideshow-preview\" class=\"jsx-1711207865 slideshow-preview\">\n<h3 class=\"title5 jsx-62124236 jsx-1085005187\" data-cy=\"slideshow-preview-title\">The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Remastered Screenshots<\/h3>\n<div data-cy=\"slideshow-images-container\" class=\"jsx-1711207865 images-container\"><button type=\"button\" data-cy=\"hero-image\" aria-label=\"Open Slideshow\" class=\"jsx-1711207865 hero-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"progressive-image jsx-2896921488 image aspect-ratio aspect-ratio-16-9 jsx-2605834259 jsx-2338608387 hover-opacity\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/imdbnews.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/bethesda-finally-confirms-the-elder-scrolls-iv-oblivion-remastered-patch-is-coming.gif\" data-cy=\"progressive-image\"><span class=\"button-text jsx-729543028 button button--primary jsx-3027214138 jsx-4266531355 row-pagination-button next contained centered round large\" data-cy=\"paginate next\" title=\"Open Slideshow\"><span class=\"ign-icon right-chevron jsx-2750866048 jsx-2919720488\" role=\"presentation\" aria-hidden=\"true\" data-cy=\"right-chevron\"><\/span><\/span><\/button><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Now, Bethesda has said a patch is indeed in the works, and it will add optimizations made for the Switch 2 version.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">\u201cWe&#8217;ve heard your feedback asking for an additional patch for Oblivion Remastered,\u201d Bethesda said in a tweet. \u201cThe Nintendo Switch 2 version of the game has a number of optimizations that we are looking into bringing to other platforms and we will share more when we are able.\u201d<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">That\u2019s pretty vague, but fans have responded positively to the statement. \u201cInsane that they&#8217;ve said NOTHING about this for over a year, but glad to finally hear something,\u201d one fan said on the Oblivion subreddit. \u201cThis better be substantial.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><span data-cy=\"faceoff-view-trigger\"><\/span><\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Oblivion Remastered, overall, seems like a big success for Bethesda, which contracted Virtuos to help remake its much-loved role-playing game using Unreal Engine 5. It\u2019s seen over 9 million players, and Bethesda development chief Todd Howard told IGN in December that the studio was \u201creally, really pleased with how well it did.\u201d So it seems somewhat odd that the game hasn\u2019t seen an update since July 2025.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\"><em>Wesley is Director, News at IGN.
