Pixar\u2019s musical fantasy film, set in the Mexican Land Of The Dead, might stake a claim as the studio\u2019s most tear-jerking movie \u2013 a certified 10 on the sob-scale thanks to its emotional gut-punches. It is, of course, a colourful and joyous adventure too, sending guitar-playing kiddo Miguel into the great beyond on a family adventure. And following the announcement in 2025 that Coco 2 was coming, the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California saw fresh details \u2013 and the first concept art \u2013 emerge from the sequel.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>First up, the film will bring back Miguel, this time a teenager with a snazzy new haircut (see the image above). And he\u2019ll be returning to the Land Of The Dead once more, because the first film\u2019s dastardly villain \u2013 murderous crooner Ernesto de la Cruz \u2013 is back too, with Benjamin Bratt returning to voice him. \u201cRemember me?\u201d Bratt asked the D23 audience on stage. \u201cI can\u2019t wait to bring my character back to death,\u201d he said, noting that the character is \u201cback for revenge\u201d. Watch out, Miguel.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>There\u2019s still a while to go until <em>Coco 2<\/em> makes its way to cinemas \u2013 it\u2019s due for release in 2029.
