Seven years after <em>Frozen II<\/em> followed up the global phenomenon that was the original film, Disney is gearing up to unleash the long-awaited threequel, furthering the adventures of Anna, Elsa, Olaf, Kristoff and Sven. And while <em>Frozen III<\/em> won\u2019t be arriving in cinemas until November 2027, fans at the D23 Expo in Anaheim, California got the first peek at what directors Jennifer Lee and Trent Correy have been working on.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>Stars Kristen Bell and Idina Menzel took to the D23 stage \u2013 singing a moody and mysterious new version of <em>Frozen<\/em>\u2019s opening number, \u2018Frozen Heart\u2019 \u2013 and revealed the first plot details for the third film, which will see supernatural events encroach on the wedding (and honeymoon) of Anna and Kristoff. Footage presented in the room showed Elsa being struck by a small flying ice creature on the wedding day \u2013 an event which later sends the gang into a crystalline wonderland, where more butterfly-like icy beings reside.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"inlineImage_image-container__aklxu block-item\" data-test=\"inline-image-container\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Frozen III \u2013 D23 booth\" loading=\"lazy\" data-nimg=\"fill\" src=\"https:\/\/imdbnews.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/frozen-3-reveals-first-plot-details-new-songs-and-a-villain-at-d23.jpg\" \/><\/div>\n<p><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>As the group ventures into this new realm, it becomes clear those flying ice creatures are connected to the film\u2019s new villain; a figure who wasn\u2019t shown in full, but whose sharply manicured hand was seen emerging from a cloud of the&nbsp;critters, who became the razor-like neckline of her dramatic villain cloak. It seems the baddie this time around be another human magic-user, like Elsa, with nefarious intent.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>Elsewhere, it seems like <em>Frozen III<\/em> will find love in the air not just for its newlyweds, but for Olaf \u2013 striking up a romance with another snowman, Samantha (the name being something of an in-joke for <em>Frozen II<\/em> fans). The audience was treated to a sneak peek of Olaf\u2019s take on love, with actor Josh Gad singing live one of <em>Frozen III<\/em>\u2019s new songs \u2013 a disco-y toe-tapper about Olaf\u2019s feelings for Samantha.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>Who is that mysterious villain? How will the ever-older and ever-wiser Olaf find his first experience of romance? And will we get even more costume changes for Anna and Elsa?
