{"id":13165,"date":"2026-08-20T17:57:14","date_gmt":"2026-08-20T14:57:14","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/imdbnews.ir\/?p=13165"},"modified":"2026-08-20T20:55:30","modified_gmt":"2026-08-20T17:25:30","slug":"io-interactive-celebrates-007-first-light-selling-4-million-copies-in-3-months","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/imdbnews.ir\/index.php\/2026\/08\/20\/io-interactive-celebrates-007-first-light-selling-4-million-copies-in-3-months\/","title":{"rendered":"IO Interactive Celebrates 007 First Light Selling 4 Million Copies in 3 Months"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">James Bond video game blockbuster 007 First Light has sold 4 million copies in just three months, developer IO Interactive has announced.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">The achievement comes amid uncertainty over the future of the James Bond video game franchise under Amazon, despite widespread acclaim for First Light itself, built by Hitman maker IO.<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">But for now, at least, there&#8217;s a lot to celebrate \u2014 with 4 million copies in three months an impressive achievement, with the game&#8217;s Nintendo Switch 2 launch still to come. <\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Today, IO also recommitted to updating First Light further with an array of post-launch updates, including a New Game+ campaign option, a fresh mission starring pirate king Bawma (portrayed by Lenny Kravitz), plus addition Tac Sim challenges, weapons and cosmetics, as well as a photo mode. <\/p>\n<figure class=\"jsx-313219616\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt aria-hidden=\"true\" role=\"presentation\" class=\"progressive-image article-image article-image-full-size jsx-1809694635 jsx-2338608387\" loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/imdbnews.ir\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/08\/io-interactive-celebrates-007-first-light-selling-4-million-copies-in-3-months.gif\" data-cy=\"progressive-image\"><figcaption data-cy=\"caption\" class=\"caption jsx-1762799490 jsx-479945570 article-image-caption\">007: First Light Year One Content. Built as the first part of a potential Bond trilogy, any future sequel, if officially greenlit, will now need to be published by Amazon Games. <\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">IO published First Light itself, similar to how it handled Hitman 3, something which enables it to recoup a greater share of the projects and have full creative control over the game&#8217;s direction and story. IGN gave the game a 9\/10 in our 007  First Light review, noting that it was &#8220;obsessed with bringing the Bond fantasy to life in a way no one has ever managed before&#8221; and describing it as &#8220;the best Bond game I\u2019ve ever played.&#8221;<\/p>\n<p data-cy=\"paragraph\" class=\"paragraph jsx-2269604527\">Last month, IO was forced to scale back work on its under-wraps fantasy RPG codenamed Project Dragon, which had been partly funded by cash from Xbox.
