He first voiced the character in the original 1984 cartoon (also voicing the likes of Ironhide, Wingspan and more in the show), and voiced him in 1986\u2019s <em>Transformers: The Movie<\/em> \u2013 a film which, notably, killed off Optimus Prime in its first act, to much controversy (and many upset children). As a result, the character was revived in 1987 two-part episode \u2018The Return Of Optimus Prime\u2019.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content-module-scss-module__RI8h6a__content\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>When Transformers came to live-action cinemas in 2007\u2019s Michael Bay-directed <em>Transformers<\/em>, Cullen was brought on to voice Prime \u2013 and he continued to do so in Bay sequels <em>Revenge Of The Fallen<\/em>, <em>Dark Of The Moon<\/em>, <em>Age Of Extinction<\/em>, and <em>The Last Knight<\/em>. He also returned in Travis Knight\u2019s spin-off <em>Bumblebee<\/em>, and 2023\u2019s <em>Transformers: Rise Of The Beasts<\/em>, in what would be his final film role, and his last time speaking as Prime (aside from a 2024 episode of <em>The Masked Singer<\/em>). From 2007 to 2016, he also voiced Optimus in several video games, often tie-ins to the feature films.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content-module-scss-module__RI8h6a__content\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>Other major roles for Cullen included many years voicing Eeyore in the Winnie the Pooh cartoons, beginning with 1988\u2019s <em>The New Adventures Of Winnie The Pooh<\/em>, through to 2007\u2019s <em>My Friends Tigger &amp; Pooh<\/em>, via several feature films; his final performance as Eeyore came in a 2017 episode of Disney Jr. show <em>Doc McStuffins<\/em>. Elsewhere, he also voiced Monterey Jack in <em>Chip \u2019N Dale: Rescue Rangers<\/em>, antagonistic car KARR in <em>Knight Rider<\/em>, and contributed to the voice of the Predator in John McTiernan\u2019s sci-fi action-thriller. Cullen\u2019s final major role came in the animated superhero series Invincible, voicing Viltrumite rebel Thaedus.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content-module-scss-module__RI8h6a__content\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>As Optimus Prime \u2013 and many, many other characters besides \u2013 Cullen proved the voice of many people\u2019s childhoods, and adulthoods too.
