And since the man himself has \u2013 <em>light spoiler warning<\/em> \u2013 been instantly picked as a Traitor (and blurted out to his fellow players that he was selected as a baddie), it seems he\u2019ll be living up to his reputation as a livewire screen presence even on a reality celeb gameshow.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content-module-scss-module__RI8h6a__content\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>Of course, right from his first film performance in <em>Withnail &amp; I<\/em>, Grant has been an iconic actor \u2013 and being a Traitor on <em>The Traitors<\/em> is far from his first time breaking bad. While you wait for more episodes of <em>Celebrity Traitors<\/em> to arrive (Thursdays and Fridays on BBC One, if you\u2019re watching), have a watch of these Richard E. Grant may be doing the odd murder or two in the Traitor Mansion in the coming weeks (if he can somehow survive <em>that<\/em> first episode clanger), but no amount of celeb slaying will put more red on Grant&#8217;s ledger than his turn as Dr. Zander Rice in James Mangold&#8217;s mutie masterpiece <em>Logan<\/em>. Not only did Rice secretly engineer and distribute a genetically modified virus to suppress the X-gene and decimate the mutant population, but the Essex Corp head and leader of the Reavers also engineered, enslaved, and tortured his own mutie kiddos, too, illegally experimenting on them for profit. On the plus side, he <em>does<\/em> meet a satisfyingly grim end as the last person Hugh Jackman&#8217;s Logan kills before he meets his own maker.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content-module-scss-module__RI8h6a__content\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>Read <em>Empire<\/em>&#8216;s review of Logan.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content-module-scss-module__RI8h6a__content\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Can You Ever Forgive Me? And he was a standout in Marielle Heller\u2019s wonderful drama of the same name, full of morally grey characters. Jack Hock is far from a villain, but he\u2019s not someone you\u2019d trust either; with a shoplifting habit, the kind of connections that can help you sell forged letters from literary greats, and poor form as a cat-sitter too. You\u2019ll feel plenty of sympathy for him, and Melissa McCarthy\u2019s Lee Israel too, as they pull off their illegal scheme \u2013 but hey, you also feel some sympathy for the Traitors too as they go about their murderous business.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content-module-scss-module__RI8h6a__content\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>Read <em>Empire<\/em>&#8216;s review of Can You Ever Forgive Me.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content-module-scss-module__RI8h6a__content\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<h2><strong>Star Wars: Episode IX \u2013 The Rise Of Skywalker (2019)<\/strong><\/h2>\n<p><\/span><\/p>\n<div class=\"inlineImage-module-scss-module__t19_Pa__image-container block-item\" data-test=\"inline-image-container\"><img decoding=\"async\" alt=\"Richard E. Grant fills that uniform with venomous glee, evidently thrilled to do the bidding of both Supreme Leader Kylo Ren, and the resurrected Emperor Palpatine \u2013 and you can retroactively imagine him in previous iterations of the Empire, just left of camera.
