I know some people are very much against the idea of owning these, so I thought best to mention it.

We gave the Switch 2 version an impressive review, with IGN’s Logan Plant describing it as an “impressive port for both newcomers and those returning to Midgar.”

In our review update, Logan also noted that the game “checks pretty much every box you could ask for from a portable version.” If you’ve been waiting for a chance to play this one on Nintendo’s latest console, $25 is a particularly good excuse to finally jump in.

We also consider Final Fantasy 7 Remake one of the best video game remakes of all time. Its gorgeous reimagining of Midgar, memorable cast of characters, and revamped real-time combat make it a standout RPG, whether you’re returning to the story or experiencing it for the first time.

It’s the perfect time to jump in, as well, with Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth also now on Switch 2, and the final game in the trilogy, Final Fantasy 7 Revelation, set to release on the console, alongside PS5, Xbox, and PC, on April 7, 2026.

If you’re keen to see where the trilogy is heading, IGN has already gone hands-on with Revelation, sharing our impressions in two recent previews here. In the meantime, Final Fantasy 7 Remake is an excellent place to start, or revisit, before the trilogy reaches its conclusion.

Final Fantasy 7 Revelation Preview Screenshots

Pokémon TCG and the most expensive cards to comprehensive Magic: The Gathering buying guides.

[49
50
post-15195","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-49","tag-50
["GET
