Recent years have given us the arrival of super-sleuth Benoit Blanc in the <em>Knives Out<\/em> trilogy, as well as a bunch of Kenneth Branagh Poirot adaptations. And soon, a very different sort of detective story will be hitting the big screen. It has all the regular ingredients; a dead body, a knotty plot, surprises in store. But let\u2019s just say, when it comes to the actual crime-solvers this time around, ewe aren\u2019t ready.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p><em>The Sheep Detectives<\/em> \u2013 scripted by <em>The Last Of Us<\/em> and <em>Chernobyl<\/em>\u2019s Craig Mazin, and directed by Kyle Balda \u2013 delivers exactly what it says on the tin. Because, the yarn it\u2019s unravelling regards the death of a shepherd, Hugh Jackman\u2019s George Hardy, with his flock setting out to discover whodunnit. It was the unexpectedness of this combination that drew Jackman in. \u201cIt really got me because I was like, \u2018This sounds pretty nutty \u2014 <em>Knives Out<\/em> meets <em>Babe<\/em>\u2019 \u2014 and it\u2019s intriguing because I think we\u2019re all looking for things that are really inventive and new,\u201d he says. It made for a very different kind of shooting experience to, say, Wolverine. \u201cThere were a couple of sheep, but mainly it was puppets that I was working with, which were incredible,\u201d he says of his ovine co-stars. \u201cI had something incredibly real to interact with, and beautiful and magical.
