Yes, after technically dying in Sam Hargrave&#8217;s <em>Extraction<\/em>, and having gotten better in testosterone-fuelled follow-up <em>Extraction 2<\/em>, Chris Hemsworth&#8217;s Aussie merc Tyler Rake is officially coming back for a new mission with the ingeniously titled <em>Extraction 3<\/em>. And what&#8217;s more, per <em>Deadline<\/em>&#8216;s reporting, we know that he&#8217;s not coming back alone: Sam Hargrave is returning to the directorial hotseat, while Rake&#8217;s BFF\/manager Nik (Golshifteh Farahani) and mysterious &#8216;Man In The Suit&#8217; Alcott (Idris Elba) are also re-entering the fray on-screen.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>Having somehow pulled off a prison riot, car chase, and train face-off all rolled into one insane 21-minute &#8216;oner&#8217; with <em>Extraction 2<\/em> (not to mention setting Hemsworth&#8217;s excellently named Tyler Rake on actual fire), upping the ante for the surprisingly brutal and brilliantly choreographed action franchise, <em>Extraction 3<\/em> has got a lot to live up to. That being said, according to <em>Deadline<\/em>, Hemsworth \u2014 fresh from the release of Bart Layton&#8217;s heist thriller <em>Crime 101<\/em> \u2014 was taken enough with writer David Weil&#8217;s latest script for the action sequel that he&#8217;s readily committed himself to spending this summer shooting the movie. Plot details on the film are, as you may expect, under wraps \u2014 but we imagine the gist will be that Tyler Rake gets given a mission that necessitates lots of badass action set pieces and explosions and such. After all, what more could we possibly want from a third <em>Extraction<\/em>?<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>With both of its first two entries ranking among Netflix&#8217;s most popular English-language films, the <em>Extraction<\/em> franchise has successfully shown what a life beyond Thor and the MCU could look like for the hammer-wielding Hemsworth brother. And after the sensorial assault (in a good way) that was <em>Extraction 2<\/em>, consider us fully aboard with <em>Extraction 3<\/em> \u2014 or <em>3xtraction<\/em> as all the cool kids will no doubt be calling it.
