And today, another biggie is officially underway: production has begun on Alex Garland\u2019s Elden Ring movie, another A24 joint, which means that we have more casting info, and some intriguing tidbits that point to the scope of Garland\u2019s endeavour.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>Garland is directing from his own screenplay, based on the famously hard-as-nails game; which itself had George R.R. Martin on writing duties. And he\u2019s shooting the film for IMAX, so expect the doomy (open) world to be captured on an epic canvas \u2013 frankly, we\u2019d expect nothing less from the director of <em>Annihilation<\/em> and <em>Civil War<\/em>. In front of those massive IMAX cameras will be a mightily impressive cast, including several Garland regulars: Kit Connor, Ben Whishaw, Cailee Spaeny, Tom Burke, Havana Rose Liu, Sonoya Mizuno, Jonathan Pryce, Ruby Cruz, Nick Offerman, John Hodgkinson, Jefferson Hall, Emma Laird, and Peter Serafinowicz.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>How exactly Garland will tackle the game remains to be seen \u2013 but we\u2019ll find out what his vision is when it hits cinemas on March 3, 2028.
