Frankly, we don&#8217;t know \u2014 but we <em>are<\/em> about to find out, folks. Per <em>Deadline<\/em>&#8216;s reporting, Ryan Coogler&#8217;s upcoming The X-Files reboot at Hulu has just set its guest stars \u2014 and leading a starry array of supporting players is none other than Aunt Gladys herself, Amy Madigan!<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>In recent months, we&#8217;ve already learned that Himesh Patel will be playing the (figurative) Mulder to Danielle Deadwyler&#8217;s (figurative) Scully in Coogler&#8217;s Hulu-bound reboot pilot, with the duo set to play a pair of chalk-and-cheese detectives &#8216;assigned to a long-shuttered division devoted to cases involving unexplained phenomena&#8217;. And now we&#8217;ve got another eight names in total to add to the project&#8217;s exciting call sheet, including the above-mentioned Madigan. Also seeking the truth and dabbling in unexplained phenomena in Coogler&#8217;s retooling of Chris Carter&#8217;s cult classic series will be Steve Buscemi, Ben Foster, Devery Jacobs, Lochlyn Munro, Tantoo Cardinal, Joel D. Montgrad, and \u2014 last but not least \u2014 Sofia Grace Clifton.<\/p>\n<p><\/span><span class=\"content_content__i0P3p\" data-test=\"content\"><\/p>\n<p>Set to be written and directed by Coogler, with Jennifer Yale serving as showrunner, although <em>The X-Files<\/em> reboot may still seem like a bit of a pipe dream to some (especially those of us still licking our <em>Buffy: New Sunnydale<\/em> wounds <em>*sigh*<\/em>), with each new casting announcement we find ourselves wanting to believe just that little bit more that this thing is actually happening. Let&#8217;s face it, who <em>doesn&#8217;t<\/em> want to see Oscar winner Ryan Coogler direct Oscar winner Amy Madigan in a prestige reimagining of the show that gave us Vince Gilligan, the Scully effect, and that one episode with the invisible pregnant elephant?
