Between the likes of The Thursday Murder Club, Ludwig, and Death Valley, cosy crime dramas are having something of a moment just now. But regardless of the murder mystery movies and shows vying for our eyeballs of late, six seasons in, Disney+ and Hulu’s Only Murders In The Building remains the undisputed GOAT of the genre. And with Charles, Oliver, and Mabel’s next outing set to take the crime solving podcaster trio away from the Arconia and across the pond to London, Disney+ has today confirmed an 8 December release date for OMITB Season 6 — and dropped a few first-look pictures from the season ahead. Check them out below;

Well there you have it — that’s certainly Steve Martin, Martin Short, and Selena Gomez in a variety of locations that look distinctly like London! But arguably, it’s who we don’t see here that should have you really excited for Only Murders‘ return, because the gang’s trip to Blighty is bringing with it one hell of an ensemble of Britain and Ireland’s finest to bolster the victim/suspect line-up. For those who didn’t already know, OMITB Season 6’s role call includes *deep breath* Olivia Colman, Nicola Coughlan, Martin Freeman, Sharon Horgan, Jim Broadbent, Jennifer Saunders, Geri Halliwell, Sean Teale, Simone Ashley, Rhea Norwood, Richard Ayoade, Jamie Demetriou, Derek Jacobi, Kathryn Hunter, Lesley Nicol and not one, not two, but three Doctors in the form of Peter Capaldi, David Tennant, and Jodie Whittaker. Yeah, we’re thinkin’ that’s one hell of a line-up!
The official synopsis for Only Murders In The Building Season 6 — which will also see the returns of series regulars Meryl Streep and Tina Fey — reads as follows: “In Season 6, after successfully bringing the guilty to justice once again, our trio Charles (Steve Martin), Oliver (Martin Short) and Mabel (Selena Gomez) embark on their hardest case yet when the next victim — Cinda Canning — arrives at their doorstep, summoning them to London to catch her killer. Our beloved trio of true crime-solving podcasters must now navigate their way through the home of the cozy murder mystery, replete with a whole new collection of suspicious and particularly English-eccentric characters. But can they follow in the footsteps of the woman whose podcast started it all for them … without having their story end the same as hers?”
London awaits. There’s another murder to be solved. And co-creators Martin and John Hoffman have the most who’s-who-iest (and Who-iest) of whodunits on their hands for us this time out. So sharpen your pencils, dust off your magnifying glasses, and crack open a fresh moleskin for Only Murders In The Building Season 6’s return on 8 December. It’s shaping up to be a real killer…
