He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction Release Date Confirmed

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction has a release date: February 4, 2027.

Bitmap Bureau, the developer behind Terminator 2D: No Fate, worked with Mattel and the retro team at Clear River Games on the old-school brawler, which launches digitally and physically on Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S. Two physical versions of the game will be available via Limited Run Games. The standard physical release costs $29.99, and the Collector’s Edition costs $99.99.

Dragon Pearl of Destruction is inspired by the much-loved ‘80s animated series, and you can see that come through in pixel-art and 2D gameplay. The playable characters are He-Man, She-Ra, Man-At-Arms, and Teela, and you can play solo or co-op (two-player local co-op).

There are 13 stages, including the Royal Palace, the Vine Jungle, and Snake Mountain, and famous villains such as Skeletor, Evil-Lyn, Beast Man, and Trap Jaw. You’ll also bump into the dark sorceress Shokoti and the Shadow Beasts.

The Collector’s Edition includes lunchbox style packaging, pin badges, a mini-power sword, and an acrylic standee featuring He-Man riding Battle Cat, among other things. The contents of both physical editions are detailed below.

We previewed He-Man and the Masters of the Universe: Dragon Pearl of Destruction in August and thought it could be the first ever good He-Man game. It comes following the release of Amazon’s Masters of the Universe, which struggled at the box office but found success on Prime Video.
